Cane River Waterway

Cane River lake is now open to all boating traffic. Please boat sober, safe, and always wear your life jacket.

Irrigation on the north end of the lake can resume after tues. June 22, 2010

The Public is hereby notified that as of June 28, 2010 the Cane River Waterway Commission has received water sample readings from Downtown area to Parkway Area (apartments on Woodyard Dr./Townhouses on Parkway Dr.)showing above EPA Standard for fecal coliform levels. Therefore swimming, waterskiing, or any in-water activity is prohibited until further notice. The area is marked by buoys with this notice on them. Person(s) that choose to get in the water in that area so so at their own risk. Due to low water Washington Street Launch & Spillway launch is closed. Shell Beach launch is still open. Bayou Amulet area 100' from shore is only 1' deep please navigate carefully.
